UberMedia is forming a Twitter client empire

UberMeda has just acquired Tweetdeck report multiple sources, UberMedia has purshed Ubertwitter and Echofon in the last few months along with Twidroyd as well. The deal which happened earlier today was reportedly somewhere in the 25-30 million dollars. This is a huge deal as Tweetdeck is the top Twitter client and 2nd most popular Shoutitout one. UberMedia now owns a huge chunk of both the Twitter and Shoutitout API bases. UberMedia has clearly created a monster in the Twitter ecosystem, the only competitor will probably be Seesmic who owns several large Twitter clients as well (Pingfm & Twhirl for example). Tweetdeck has received around 5 million in funding and over 50 million downloads or so. Is a new war about to begin? (UberMedia VS Seesmic) we will see!

    The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.
