Amazon, Foursquare, Meetup, and more added to Twitter.com
Amazon, AOL video, Gowalla, Foursquare, Meetup, and Plancast are the newest tools to be added to Twitter.com, allowing users to see even more content without leaving the site.
When Twitter first unveiled the New Twitter one of its key points was that it had content from sites like Twitpic and Youtube already embedded into the site so users could see it and get back to Twitter easier. Back in December Twitter added 5 new services to this feature: Blip.tv, Instagram, Slideshare, Rdio, and Dipdive.
Now Twitter supports 6 new services within the stream. Whenever the people you follow tweet a link from Foursquare, Gowalla, Amazon, Meetup, Plancast, or AOL video, multimedia from that service will appear below the tweet. Twitter appears to be rolling out these new integrations now.
Since the integration of 3rd party service into the Twitter stream allot of startups have created tools for embedding things into Twitter. For example Embedly launched Parrotfish earlier this year, this browser extension is used to embed content into Twitter.
