Twitter photos live for Twitter employees
So now that we know that Twitter photos are very real, following the announcement by Twitter, as we first reported. We have been wondering when Twitter will start rolling out this new feature to users as we had not seen it in actual action. Well, today Twitter PR told us users will start getting this feature next week and employees can already upload photos to Twitter as the picture the the left shows.
You can view the few photos posted by Twitter employees here. However, something interesting is that the link goes strait to the tweet and doesn’t work if you take the link and post it on your account.
We had several guesses as to which domain Twitter would be using, first we thought maybe twitphoto.me but that was proven wrong when Twitter allowed that domain name to be purchased, we then thought it might be hosted at the internally used twimg.com, but once again that was wrong as the few photo tweets out there are on pic.twitter.com, which seems to be what the URL will be for the new photo sharing service.
Twitter also wants to make it clear that these photos, though powered by Photobucket, will not actually be on Photobucket and that you don’t have to have a Photobucket account to use this new service.
