Did Tumblr passing WordPress in blogs make WordPress change their stats page?

So as we recently reported popular upcoming site Tumblr passed WordPress.com in the amount of blogs hosted on the respected sites. Well, recently WordPress.com has changed their stat pages so it dosn’t show just how many blogs are on WordPress.com, but how many are on the entire WordPress network including the ones downloaded from .org. WordPress seems to have about twice as many blogs and a little more than Tumblr overall.

We just find this a little to ironic that WordPress happens to change their stats page right after this breaks news but maybe it is just a coincident still we thought it was worth mentioning.

Also WordPress says they host about half of the blogs which isn’t exactly true unless they have had a major eruption of blogs created on WordPress.com but anyway that is a side note.

So do you think that WordPress changed its stat page just because Tumblr got bigger than it?

Good day! Do you know if they make any plugins to safeguard against hackers?
I’m kinda paranoid about losing everything I’ve worked hard on.

    Any suggestions?
